Pella, Iowa – Vermeer has expanded its 6×5-foot 605 S-series round baler lineup with four models—the Rancher, Signature, Premium, and Cornstalk Special—giving operators greater choice without sacrificing the durability and performance they expect. “Customers told us they wanted more choice without sacrificing the durability and performance they expect from Vermeer,” said Shane Rourke, managing director of the forage division at Vermeer. “The 605 S-series was built around that feedback. Whether a producer prioritizes simplicity, versatility, advanced technology, or crop-specific performance, there’s a model designed to meet those needs.”

All models are controlled through the Atlas Pro control system, which gives operators real-time feedback on density, moisture, bale shape, and productivity, while allowing them to make key adjustments to density, net tension, and number of wraps from the cab. Auto eject is designed to reduce the operator’s workload—once a bale reaches target size, the system automatically wraps the bale, opens the tailgate, ejects the bale, and closes and resets for the next cycle. The system is designed to work with a range of tractors so operators can benefit from automation with their existing equipment. The premium models offer TempSense bearing temperature monitoring to help operators prevent failures or fires.

The 605 S-series introduces a rotor feeding system engineered to evenly distribute crop across the full width of the chamber for a consistent bale shape, even in uneven windrows and challenging conditions. The Rancher baler is designed for core performance, durability, and bale quality with a four-bar camless side pickup equipped with 56 rubber-mounted pickup teeth. The Signature baler adds performance-focused features for operators wanting to bale varying crop types, with increased belt speed and a cammed pickup.

The Premium baler includes TempSense bearing monitoring and Auto Lube standard, with smart automation and a density system designed to deliver tighter, heavier bales. The Cornstalk Special baler is purpose-built for abrasive crops, built on the Premium platform with a powered windguard and auto eject standard. “This lineup is about giving producers confidence going into every field,” Rourke said.
